Leyenda folclórica colombiana representada a través de video y composición musical por computador

Abstract

In the midst of the boom of new technologies and the great development of computer programs that facilitate and optimize creative processes, the use of the computer as a support tool to develop, edit, capture and publish their proposals is attractive to new composers, opening the possibility of exploring and experimenting in other disciplines such as multimedia (text, sound, image, animation, video, etc.). The purpose of this work is to present a musical work created using characteristic elements of musical minimalism and Afro-Caribbean popular music as compositional tools in a multimedia montage that includes video with pre-recorded music (on digital DVD) and live music. In addition, through the means described (video and music), a personal interpretation of the Colombian folklore legend El Mohán is presented, inquiring about its origins, its appearance and how the character can be related to some events in society throughout history to the present day.
