Resumen
The purpose of this text was to characterize the social representations of citizenship in the Standards in Citizen Competencies, and those of the students of the Carlos Pizarro Leongómez IED Educational Institution, which was carried out from the Arendtian perspective, which proposed the author as a reference for clarify these social representations making use of his theory in the different spheres in which the individual must develop, as well as the characterization that is given of these through action and discourse as essential narrative means to reveal the uniqueness of identity personal, and in this way become visible and integrate with the other subjects, which allows an exercise of rationality based on linguistic and social capacity, since the word gives meaning and depth to the action. All this under the methodological line of discourse analysis that addresses documents issued by the Ministry of National Education (hereinafter, MEN) on citizenship, as well as the narrative testimonies of the students since both are registered in social representations that have in between some narratives about what it is to be a citizen, as well as about the way they deal with the private, the public, the social, and finally, the political.
