Resumen
In this document is described the general operation of Bragg diffraction gratings and their behavior how sensor. Their constitutive parameters are identified, different methods of analysis are described, and a brief overview of the FBG sensing market is given; It is described how the different physical magnitudes are measured with the FBGs. In addition, a study of the fields of application where the FBG is currently used as a sensor and particular cases are showen. An analysis of the resolution of the sensing systems for the different physical variables is done, based on the resolution of the interrogators and the sensitivity of the sensors. An analysis of the resolution of the electrical sensing systems is also done for the same physical variables and in this way a comparison of the two types of sensors is made. Also, Is shown how three different interrogators were implemented: A commercial interrogator, A general interrogation scheme using an optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) and the edge filter interrogator. Finally the results obtained and their analysis are shown.
