Resumen
The vegetation in the municipality of Acandí, Choco, was characterized by means of a proven stratification of nine surveys of 1000 m2 of surface each. The structure, richness and diversity, carbon capture, and surely the floristic component were evaluated through the methodology proposed by Cantillo (2007) where we found three phases: preparation, field and data analysis. Three syntaxonomic units were determined; three communities. The species with the highest IVI were Pterocarpus officinalis, Ceiba pentandra, Ficus dendrocida, Ormosia macrocalyx, where the suppressed stratum was the most dominant and the sub-tree had the greatest richness and diversity. Regarding the quantification of biomass and carbon retained, the forest community of Pterocarpus officinalis and Ceiba pentandra presents the highest values, on the other hand, when ordering the vegetation according to soil factors, organic matter (OM) and gravimetric humidity. has the greatest influence on the plant component, finally some approximations are made to encourage forestry development in the region.
