Resumen
Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) is a plant of Amazonian origin that is currently very much traded in international markets, which are dominated by companies of Peruvian origin. From your seed you can get oils, flours, snaks, cosmetics among others. In Colombia in recent years there has been an increase in interest in the implementation of this crop. Current national harvests have two main destinations: for the export of shelled seed to Peru, where it is used as raw material for products that are subsequently exported to Europe and the United States. Another part that is used in small-scale national production in remote areas, such as in Putumayo and Caquetá, and in some cases in the center of the country. The Sacha Inchi seed contains high levels of essential fatty acids and vitamin E, properties that are of great health benefit.
