Resumen
In the course of this project the mechanical behavior of a sample of granular base type INVIAS BG-25 will be analyzed when reacting with a chemical called sodium silicate added in different dosages. First the support capacity of the granular base sample will be found without adding this chemical, it will be subsequently immersed, completely saturated for 120 hours, at the end of this period the CBR test will be carried out on the granular base sample And the change in the carrying capacity of said sample product of the immersion condition to which it was exposed will be determined. This procedure will be performed with five (5) different dosages of the chemical sodium silicate in the following amounts: 0% 2. 3% 46% 69% 90% A range between 0-90% inclusion of sodium silicate in the sample was chosen with the intention of being able to add the largest amount of the chemical with respect to the optimal moisture of the granular base and divided that range into equal proportions to be able to Analyze the data found and give a recommendation about the most adequate dosage of sodium silicate to minimize the loss of support capacity in granular bases by the effect of saturation.
