Resumen
Smooth jazz is a very popular musical genre in the United States and the world, its musical characteristics have positioned it as a successful commercial genre, directing jazz towards a new audience, mutating from the traditional branch to a more commercial jazz, but this transformation did not come about. overnight, since many emerging musical genres since the 1950s, such as soul and rock, opened the way for fusions to give new sounds, they will reach the ears of ordinary people who need a quiet music for the chaotic life of cities, and musicians like Grover Washington, George Benson, David Sanborn, Kenny G, knew how to interpret the needs of the public and broke the mold of the traditional giving people a different jazz that they could understand, and without fear of criticism they managed to impose a musical and commercial model that was very successful and continues to function to this day.
