Resumen
The development of technology and metal manufacturing in the colombian industry is short and in comparison to other countries we are substantially backward. Due to the rhythm of the global market we see ourselves with the need of develop more research at work with metal, being a fundamental material for the global industry. One of the great challenges of technological research is achieve alter the characteristics of an element through treatments and tests (chemical and physical), with the purpose of promote new applications in the market. For this reason, this project is carried out which consists of analyze the influence of quenching at intercritical temperatures and an tempering to a steel AISI/SAE 1045 to which an erosive attack is made, with the results obtained it concludes if the process It is appropriate to be used in the industry.
