Resumen
This document relates the postulates of Gunter Pauli (2011), author of the book "The blue economy", with the wine sector specifically with the production process of red wine, in order to establish the key points of its application in this industry. For this, it was necessary to carry out a technical and environmental characterization of the production processes of red wine production, and then identified the blue economy criteria applicable to these processes, which allowed the design of strategies to incorporate them into the wine industry and finally The benefits that the blue economy brings to this type of industries were determined. The present study was justified because it has theoretical value, practical usefulness, social, environmental and economic relevance exposed in the development of the work. Methodologically the research work is approached from a descriptive, diachronic perspective with quantitative and qualitative information analysis; where through field visits a variety of qualitative matrices and qualitative techniques for the evaluation of projects are studied the current behavior and dynamics of some of the country's vineyards in order to reach the conclusion that the starting point of the application of the economy blue in the wine sector is the reuse of waste, diversification and development of innovations inspired by nature.
