Resumen
It has been shown not only in Colombia but in many places in the world that earthquakes or telluric movements cause major disasters; and the field of construction is not exempt from being affected by this natural condition, buildings according to their design may or may not resist these movements; According to the antecedents and results after an earthquake, non-structural elements are the main causes of damage to human life. It is for this reason that the construction of buildings has seen the need to evolve to safeguard human life; with buildings that are safer every day. Where everyone who participates in the process is aware of the importance and responsibility acquired. Understand that each component of a building is equally important to the previous one, that it must be designed as a whole, that a building is not only the main structure, but that the non-structural elements are part of that set, which must also be subject to constant verification. Here a verification tool is provided supported by the guidelines and requirements of the 2010 Earthquake Resistant Standard, which is the current regulations in Colombia for the technical supervision of buildings.
