Resumen
The virtualization of wireless networks is an objective in the current global situation where providers cannot meet the demand for data traffic and where wireless devices increasingly occupy more place in everyday life. In this research we focused on giving an objective comparison between conventional networks and virtualized networks with SDN based on results, results that were obtained by making use of tools such as Mininet together with the ONOS controller and the Cisco Packet Tracer network simulation environment. The experimentation of seven network topologies allowed us to evaluate various scenarios and obtain twenty-eight measurements in QoS (Quality of Service) parameters, as well as bandwidth and throughput measurements of the virtualized networks with SDN. From these results we concluded that the networks that make use of an SDN controller for their virtualization are superior to conventional networks, due to their ease of implementation, maintenance, low delay rates, high bandwidth and throughput.
