Resumen
The project MANIPULARTE: A Tool for Mobilizing Public Opinion explores the relationship between art, censorship, and political communication in Latin America, focusing on the realities of Bogotá (Colombia) and Havana (Cuba) between 2021 and 2023. Through the photo-embroidery technique, the author presents an art gallery that merges documentary photography with textile intervention to expose censorship, media manipulation, and civic resistance. The study employs a qualitative participatory-action methodology, integrating interviews, field observation, and curatorial practice. The research argues that art, beyond its aesthetic dimension, functions as a pedagogical and communicative tool capable of fostering critical thinking and mobilizing public opinion in the face of inequality and symbolic repression. MANIPULARTE thus emerges as a form of cultural resistance that connects art, journalism, and collective memory, transforming aesthetic experience into an act of awareness and social dialogue.
