Resumen
Intraplas S.A.S., is a Colombian pioneer company that has managed to maintain in the market, which offers the manufacture of PVC products for the construction, refrigeration and household sectors. It has been dedicated to this work for 32 years and has five productive areas such as: mixtures, ferritic, rigid, flexible and singing; also has 5 business lines; Architecture, Furniture, Refrigeration, new projects and Exports.
It has around 100 employees distributed in administrative and production plants, occupying the largest proportion of plant personnel, of which 98% is male staff.
Currently the company presents various administrative and productive problems such as: lack in the organization of processes both in the administrative and productive areas, inadequate decision making, poorly focused quality culture, inadequate inventory rotation, failure in the processes of logistics, there are excessive waste, among others, which has led to the company being less productive and competitive in the sector.
The Good Will of the company is in bad concept in the sector of the industry, as much of the clients as of the competition, the instance has reached the point of having low credibility in the banking sector, which prevents the request of credits and / or recommendations.
With respect to the production process, the company performs a process of verticalization which consists of processing the base raw material called pellet in PVC (material in processing), to achieve the final products. For the manufacture of the pellet, the raw material of primary companies (manufacturers of PVC resin, calcium carbonate) and tertiary companies responsible for distributing the additives are acquired.
To acquire the raw material, the purchasing department has an inefficient method to generate the requisition and does not have the effective and reliable information that allows an adequate process, which triggers that the raw materials do not arrive on time, delays are generated, production lines are stopped, and therefore the failure to deliver the final product to the customer. The objective of this project is to analyze, identify and restructure the processes and procedures with greater flaws that are carried out in Intraplas S.A.S. in the management of inventories in order to guarantee the correct operation of information management.
