Evaluación ambiental del manejo de residuos sólidos peligrosos generados en las estaciones de servicio de combustible ubicadas en el municipio de Ubaté, Cundinamarca

Abstract

This paper shows the evaluation of the management of hazardous solid waste, generated in the Fuel Service Stations "FSS", located in the Municipality of Ubaté, to achieve this, field visits were made to each of the FSS that were object of the investigation and surveys and checklists were applied to identify how the management of this type of waste is carried out in this stations. The document also identifies the types of hazardous waste that are not adequately disposed due to their economic value, this was made from visual checks and personal and face-to-face inquiries to FSS staff and to various informal recovery businesses in the municipality (scrap yards), once the above were done, an evaluation of the possible environmental impacts that are the consequence of an inadequate management of RESPEL was done, to identify which natural resources are affected by the poor management of this types of waste. Based on the results and the information collected during the fieldwork and research, the document includes a proposal for environmental management for FSS, which includes some strategies that seek to achieve an adequate management of hazardous solid waste and that are focused to the context of the service stations that were the object of the investigative work. The research work was justified in the importance of environmental management in the management of hazardous solid waste generated in the service stations of the municipality of Ubaté, it also has theoretical value and practical utility. Methodologically, the work is approached from descriptive research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, using surveys, checklists and matrices to assess environmental impacts. The processing and analysis of the information allowed the assessment of the management of hazardous solid waste in the EDS of the municipality of Ubaté.
