Resumen
Violence is one of the resources used recurrently by students for resolution of conflicts in the school environment, however, origin of violence is not found in the school but instead it is the consequence of the social context from a country which faces war. In order to confront this situation, the Chamber of commerce “Cámara de Comercio” from Bogotá, designed a program of intervention for improvement of the school co-existence, aimed at proposing students the use of alternative methods for conflict resolution, such proposal was taken as a reference for this research study, which firstly characterized the implementation methodology of the program in eight graders from the morning shift at Carlo Federici School located in the ninth locality of Bogotá. In parallel, Direct Observation, before and after implementation was made in order to find out the possible incidence of the HERMES program in the co-existence practices of students who participated in the implementation stage of the present study. This study is founded on a descriptive qualitative approach and its methodological design was action research in education
