Resumen
In this document the reading and writing practices carried out in the Faculty of Arts ASAB of the Francisco José de Caldas University, in the seminar of Production and Comprehension of Musical Arts Texts, are put in tension. During this process the social role played by the school as a transmitting institution for the development of student`s strategies and competences is questioned, encouraging meaningful and coherent practices regarding the daily life of students that recreates new ways of reading and writing in the world. The read and written texts through the seminar carry with them tastes and musical expressions that preserve their context, and that, therefore, allow identifying the difficulties and skills that the students evidenced in those exercises.
