La ceiba de la memoria: fecundar el recuerdo

Abstract

This work is an aesthetic analysis from Roberto Burgos´book La Ceiba de la memoria (2007). One of the characteristics of this book is that it is a polyphonic novel, which means that there are several ideological consciousness that coexist in it. With this resource, the author creates a dialog with his time and with the world, because with the contrast relationships that exist between a statement and other, expressed by different voices, is being questioned the word of others, so replication does not happen solely within the work but is directed outward. This quality is the starting point for an aesthetic analysis. For this I carry out the three tasks proposed by Bajtin in his book Questions of Literature and Aesthetics: understanding the architectural aesthetic object, understand the structure of the material and analyze the composition of the work. Thus this analysis leads to identify the author´s axiologic bet that later I will put in dialogue with the idea of temporality in Paul Ricoeur´s book Memory, History, Forgetting ; with anamnetic justice proposed in Reyes Mate and Mardones book The Ethics in the Victims and the exemplary memory proposed in Todorov´s book Abuses of memory.
