Resumen
The purpose of the study carried out was to collect data regarding the mobility of bicycles on a cycle route within a traffic lighted intersection with high demand for cyclists in the city of Bogotá in order to implement a method to evaluate this type of intersections, starting from of quantitative data analysis. For this reason, this study was developed at a traffic light intersection that is located on one of the most important cycle routes in the city due to the influx of cyclists who use it daily to go to different parts of the city. It should be noted that at the intersection, cyclists are forced to interact with different road actors such as pedestrians, vehicles and buses that transit through the area. In accordance with the above, the study was carried out under normal weather conditions and in the hour of maximum demand to also be able to guarantee the traffic of cyclists who usually travel in this place. The research addresses important characteristics regarding the mobility of bicycles about which little has been clear in the city of Bogotá. The studies that exist on the characteristics and variables that influence cycle routes, especially those with a high influx of cyclists, may be few, for this reason They have little definition regarding the variables that influence when designing a cycle route, this being one of the reasons for planning a study that seeks to analyze the behavior of the variables of speed, time and possible routes they take. cyclists that can affect a traffic signalized intersection. Due to the variables that must be taken into account for this type of intersection, based on data collection through cyclist capacity, it was possible to determine the time of maximum demand in said place, continuing with the next step, which was the use of a drone with which it was possible to document the time of maximum demand from which the data of the searched variables was obtained, for subsequent analysis, concluding a new methodology based on a quantitative analysis to take into account in future designs for intersections with the same conditions as those studied, and opening the doors to new complementary studies.
