Resumen
This monographic study analyzes the impact of evaluation methods on a group of tenthgrade students at IED Atahualpa in Fontibón, Bogotá. The research focuses on students aged 15 to 18 who have expressed difficulties in the emotional and social spheres—particularly in interpersonal relationships—that influence their academic performance and overall wellbeing. Employing a qualitative approach, the study incorporates techniques such as participatory observation, workshops, and emotional surveys to explore students' experiences with traditional evaluation methods and their consequences. Based on these findings, the study proposes more inclusive and student-centered assessment strategies that consider the emotional context, fostering a healthier and more resilient learning environment. Ultimately, it argues that a more flexible and comprehensive evaluation approach, integrating psychoaffective factors, not only enhances academic performance but also strengthens students’ emotional intelligence and motivation. This underscores the need to rethink evaluation as a holistic process that contributes to the development of confident, empathetic individuals capable of facing both academic and personal challenges.
