Resumen
This paper aims to contribute to the documentation of the cultural context related to 70 plants that the Arhuaca indigenous community has identified as important, highlighting the role of the culture and cosmogony of the communities in the restoration processes. From guided tours of the community, information was collected on the plants regarding their traditional use, traditional history and name in the Iku language. In addition, a multi temporal analysis of cover is carried out, focused on the occupation of the territory, from satellite images. In this project 70 species were documented, classified in 65 genera and 34 families. The Fabaceae, Arecaceae and Malvaceae families were the most widely used families within the community, and the most representative uses were edible, medicinal and construction. In the period between 2013 - 2023, 487 ha were recovered that now have secondary vegetation. It was possible to document part of the community's ancestral knowledge about plants, the result of joint work with the community and focused on establishing itself as a teaching tool and contributing to its cultural rescue.
