Resumen
The objective of this project is to determine the modulus of elasticity of the natural polymer Mopa-Mopa (Elaeagia pastoensis Mora) using various solvent extraction methods such as water, ethanol, and methanol, in order to determine the optimal modulus of elasticity through tensile testing. The acquisition of each experimental sample will allow for correlating mechanical properties such as ultimate stress and modulus of elasticity with the extraction methods employed. A total of 15 specimens will be manufactured using the base material, following the geometric and shape specifications outlined in ISO 527-1 and ISO 527-2 standards, thus establishing the general principles for determining the tensile properties of plastics and plastic composites under defined conditions. The analysis of variance for the modulus of elasticity and deformation will be performed using the data obtained from each experiment separately, establishing the value of the modulus of elasticity determined through the tensile tests. By investigating the modulus of elasticity of the Mopa-Mopa natural polymer using different solvent extraction methods, this project contributes to understanding its mechanical behavior and determining the optimal modulus of elasticity. The results obtained from the tensile tests provide valuable insights for industries and researchers interested in utilizing this material in various fields, including engineering and material science.
