Resumen
The norm NFPA 70 and IEC 60364, North American and European respectively, constitute great part of the lineaments raised in the regulations and norms that rule the electrical installations low tension in Colombia, giving origin and structure to the NTC 2050 and RETIE. The North American standard provides its most recent renewal in 2017 and the European standard presents updates of its different parts, the most recent was prepared in the current year 2018, that being said, in this project makes a review and comparison between these two standards, thus obtaining a comparative matrix that represents the scope of each of the guidelines outlined in the chapters of NFPA 70 and the parts of IEC60364, evidencing their respective relationship and differences. An analysis of the quantitative relationship between both norms is carried out. In the same way, the comparison analysis is performed for IEC standards with UL and ANSI standards, applied to equipment or products most used for low voltage electrical installations.
