Abstract

In this project, the characterization of the solid waste generated by the furniture manufacturing company RODFOR was carried out, where a high volume of usable waste was found, in good condition and with a permanent generation, the number of households that have pets in the UPZ 41 Muzu and the respective distribution in terms of the type of pets, then a survey was applied to establish what are the possible alternatives of use that can be given to said materials based on the needs of the pets, which turned out to be mainly aimed at entertainment and leisure products such as toys, beds, feeders and gyms, later the possible products were designed and reflected in a product portfolio where the different alternatives are exposed and finally a market analysis was carried out to establish the competition and see the potential for success of products designed according to the international, national and local contexts where a great gap was evidenced in the supply of products made with recycled materials.
