Resumen
This project report is based on the experiences and knowledge obtained during the six months that resulted in the internship at the glass bottle plant O-I Peldar Soacha, a plant that, together with the Zipaquirá and Buga plants, is responsible for producing 90% of the glass bottle in Colombia, only in Peldar Soacha they produce about 70,000 tons of production per year. Glass bottle are made up of silica sand, sodium carbonate and limestone in different percentages. The process of production basically consists of mixing the ingredients previously named, they took them to a furnace to melt them, then pass them through a machine of formation, spray them with a treatment to make them more resistant and then be subjected to an annealing process. Specifically, the internship was carried out in the area of general maintenance of the plant, which is responsible for maintaining a good running on many of the machines that are there, during the six months was applied knowledge obtained both at the university and in training provided by the plant, participated in maintenance work with mechanics such as: changes of bearings, rollers, sections of conveyor belts, bearings and straps; repair of arches meshes; mounting of fans; installation of different types of ducts; assembly and disassembly of reducers. In addition, it was carried out some tasks only for the intern among which are, the monitoring of vibrations to critical equipment, the manufacture of some guards for the recirculator pulleys, the repair and creation of maintenance orders, the updating of technical sheets of some machines, making job change stories, among others.
