Dirección musical de una fantasía para banda sinfónica infantil basada en la novela «Zoro» de Jairo Aníbal Niño – Descripción del proceso creativo

Abstract

The musical interpretation and conducting of this work are the result of a creative process that aims to recreate, through symphonic sound, some images or moments taken from the novel «Zoro» by Colombian writer Jairo Aníbal Niño, Such is the case of the protagonist crossing by canoe a river that meanders through the jungle; the surprise attack of a band of men; the encounter with animals and fantastic characters in a torbellino rhythm; the grandeur of a mountain, represented in a monophonic texture based on musical fragments of the Colombian indigenous culture; and the joy of cumbia through melodies that reflect the tenderness of childhood and the happiness of reunions. Contrast, fantasy and emotion surround this work that promotes a work of a Colombian literature, providing repertoire for the musical education of beginning bands or wind bands. The first chapter briefly introduces Jairo Aníbal Niño and his work, shows general information about the novel, character classification and narrative resources. In addition, it graphically represents the main scenarios that are the starting point for the development of the sketch. The second chapter describes the creative process of this fantasy for symphonic band, taking as reference notable works of the repertoire for this type of ensembles.
