Resumen
In Colombia, the challenges of the 21st century can only be met if all children complete primary and secondary education with quality and equity. However, the problem of school dropout is a barrier that makes it difficult to respond to these challenges. Specifically, a high percentage of children living on the urban / rural borders dropout before reaching the last year of high school. Given this problem, numerous statistical studies have been carried out in the country that have not taken into account the perceptions of the subjects about the phenomenon. Consequently, it is important to listen to the voice of dropout children and those who are at risk of dropping out in order to know, from a hermeneutical perspective, the factors that would influence their decision to dropout of school. Such is the purpose of the work reported here.
