Resumen
This internship report presents the design and deployment of a data-analytics strategy at British American Tobacco Colombia aimed at enhancing supply-chain decision-making. An initial assessment revealed all seven business areas at “Stage 0” data maturity, relying on isolated spreadsheets and manual processes. The project delivered 15 Power BI dashboards and 73 KPIs, supported by an Azure data lake and RPA-based ingestion pipelines. The solution provides real-time insight into container arrivals, sales execution, inventory cover days, truck fill rate, warehouse utilization, last-mile delivery performance, and sustainability metrics. Four months after go-live, out-of-stock losses fell from 1.5 % to 1.1 %; national truck fill rate rose from 55–60 % to 70–75 %, yielding cost savings of roughly COP 300–400 million; and last-mile effectiveness climbed to 96.5 % of orders and 98.1 % of volume delivered. Forecast-variance alerts further prevented potential oversupply or stock-outs. Beyond measurable gains in cost and service, the initiative established a data-driven culture through targeted training and change-management sessions, positioning BAT Colombia for continuous analytical improvement.
