Resumen
The purpose of this research was to identify the orchestral system and repertoire of Northamptonshire Orchestral Winds (NOW), a community orchestra, through a systematization of experience. NOW is an orchestra based in Northampton in the United Kingdom, with an education system established by grades according to the musical education system of that country. These grades were submitted to expert judgment with some instrument teachers from ASAB. The methodology developed was a systematization of experience, seeking to interpret what was observed in the Northamptonshire Orchestral Winds, in such a way that the experiences observed could be reconstructed. It is concluded that the NOW orchestra system motivates education from an early age, which allows the cultivation of musical skills in students, resulting in an advanced orchestra with high quality standards. The repertoire proposed by NOW is in line with that proposed by ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), meaning that it applies the grading system within the orchestra, allowing for methodical musical growth. The graded musical education system carried out in the United Kingdom includes repertoire from different musical periods, including contemporary and typical music of the country, and that the grading system could be applicable to our Colombian context. However, it would require a prior structure that supports musical education so that students reaching a university level can have the tools to perform well there, in addition to taking into account the traditional repertoire for its construction.
