Resumen
This exploratory study investigated the main challenges faced by aspiring soccer players between the ages of 16 and 18 in the town of Bosa, Bogotá. Using a participatory action research methodology that combined qualitative and quantitative approaches, 30 young people were surveyed and semi-structured interviews were conducted with different students from local soccer schools. The findings reveal that, beyond the passion and individual talent of those aspiring to a professional level, they face economic limitations and poor sports infrastructure. The study also highlights psychosocial obstacles such as competitive pressure, lack of family support, and high expectations, which affect their mental well-being. The research concludes that the low visibility of local talent is the final filter that leads to the disconnect between youth soccer in Bosa and the professional sphere.
