Resumen
Irrational use and resistance to environmental degradation are the causes of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) accumulating, which generates a serious environmental problem [3], due to this research has been done in the search for solutions to the problem, the most important being to completely replace the LDPE or accelerate its biodegradation process. The present work is a bibliographical study in which the most relevant aspects reported on the biodegradation of low density polyethylene (LDPE) are collected, compared and organized in a broad and systematic way, including: microorganisms capable of being used as a source of carbon ; The enzymes used and the comparison of their efficiencies from the loss of mass, considering the conditions under which the tests were performed; All available analytical techniques, existing additives or substitutes; Finally, a methodological strategy for the identification of microorganisms and the quantification of biodegradation that is adequate for their local implementation is proposed.
