Resumen
In 2010, the Local Mayor of Chapinero, the District Secretary of Environment, the NGO Conservación Internacional and the organized community, began to face the comprehensive restoration of water brooks in the city. This research presents a contingent assessment of the ecosystem services provided by the water brook Las Delicias, located in the town of Chapinero, an ecosystem that is between the urban area of the city and the Reserva Forestal Protectora Bosque Oriental de Bogotá. A total of 376 surveys were conducted in January and February 2020. The willingness to pay for access to the ecotourism trail is $4,478 ($1.15) per person and a total value of ecosystem services of $212,915,466 ($54,835). Several important methodological issues are further observed such as environmental impact assessment, tourist load capacity and benefit–cost analysis. Several new findings for these three environmental management topics have been revealed in the water brook Las Delicias.
