Resumen
Improve the efficiency of the supply chain and, consequently, achieve higher rates of return, are the main objectives of companies globally, especially when talking about that today markets are increasingly demanding, competitive and globalized, in where there are more contenders willing to deliver good quality products and affordable prices [1]. Because of these competitive pressures is necessary to effectively manage supply chains, taking the right decisions that allow the customer to deliver excellent quality products at opportune times, made efficient processes along the entire chain. To streamline decision-making to help effective management of the supply chain, companies use technologies and tools that enable them to act quickly to changes in a market that is increasingly competitive way. Among these tools are the use of mathematical models which make a representation of the problem and help provide an optimal solution that enables the achievement of objectives and increased competitiveness. One of the key tools in the development of planning requirements of an organization is planning its application, because while this is more successful their supply is better in terms of inventory days coverage and product availability. Given the above should analyze what is the best method of planning demand to be used according to the needs of each organization. The company Paz del Rio is the only steelmaker that makes the whole process of making steel from mining, it has been highlighted by staying in the steel market despite the various difficulties which has gone through since its inception in 1940 to the present [2], [3]. One of the main problems is the lack of a process that allows you to predict a more effective selling their products according to market behavior and allow you to plan your inventory with greater or lesser coverage given the high or low turnover each of them. Currently the product family that gives higher returns in terms of price and EBIDTA is straightened bars since it is one of the only companies that manufactured. This product family has been having a sales growth both in volume and price in the last year, therefore it is very important that the planning of production is given according to the consumer needs to have the market is saying a demand planning according to the behavior of selling these products. Therefore it is important to design a model of demand planning for this family that allows predicting the most successful way possible sales behavior
