Resumen
The Administrative Department for Social Prosperity, hereinafter referred to as Social Prosperity, has been working for 12 years to strengthen the social and productive inclusion of the poor and vulnerable population in coordination with the 35 regional directorates throughout the country. The Operations Sub-Directorate has structured the Environmental Management System (SGA), which has been in charge of following up on activities to mitigate the environmental impact generated by the administrative activities carried out by the Entity. Due to the above, since the year 2021 we have worked together with employees and collaborators in the implementation of the Zero Waste Management Subsystem, which aims to minimize solid waste that is disposed of in the landfill with actions of reduction, reuse and recovery within the Entity. In accordance with the above, for the year 2021 Prosperidad Social obtained the certification in the requirements specified in the standard MANUAL CERTIFICATION ZERO WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CERTIFICATION SGBC MC-Version 4 2019 with GOLD classification in the central level headquarters, being the first and only public entity with this certification ratifying its environmental commitment with the minimization in the generation of environmental impacts in the Entity. Based on this, different activities have been carried out within the Central Level headquarters to encourage the reduction and proper use of solid waste generated in the Entity such as cardboard, plastic, paper, glass, scrap metal, others (AZ and folding) and coffee grounds that are delivered to the Corporación Centro Histórico CENHIS for composting processes. Taking into account the environmental commitment of the Entity, the implementation and later the certification in the Zero Waste Management System of the 35 regional directorates by mid 2025 is projected, to achieve this objective the activities to be performed as a Sanitary Engineering intern revolve around the accompaniment and monitoring of the regions for the correct implementation of the Zero Waste Management Subsystem in eleven (11) regions, Likewise, the realization of different activities that promote the implementation of this such as training, sensitization, reports of the management of the Subsystem, realization of standard operating procedures about the emergency scenarios that occur in the Zero Waste Management Subsystem, among others.
