Resumen
The project “La Danza y el Barrio” (Dance and the Neighborhood) was developed in the community kitchens of Lisboa (Suba) and 20 de Julio (San Cristóbal) in Bogotá, with young people and older adults, through an artistic internship carried out in collaboration with the La Cometa Corporation. Its purpose was to promote coexistence, well-being, and social development through dance, understood as a means of expression, identity, and transformation. The methodological proposal, structured in five phases: diagnosis, design, implementation, exploration, and evaluation, was adapted to the physical, emotional, and social conditions of each group, integrating urban and traditional styles such as dancehall, hip hop, and salsa. The results showed improvements in self-esteem, mobility, and group cohesion, redefining the dining rooms as spaces for creation and encounter. This project provides a replicable model of community dance, demonstrating that art can strengthen social inclusion and well-being in vulnerable areas of Bogotá.
