Abstract

The actual knowledge about wetlands functioning shows these kind of ecosystems are one of the main biodiversity reservoirs on planet, besides they are a source of elemental ecosystem services for society, such as supplying, regulation and cultural, which demand management instruments to increase welfare level population, associated with environmental conditions, and availability and access to natural resoruces and goods and services of ecosystems. For this reason, several disciplines which address environmental predicament have focused part of its attention to costs and benefits of some natural resources or environmental goods and services. This academic work has as objective to estimate the price for the comunity adjacent to La Conejera wetland for compensating biodiversity loss because of Longitudinal de Occidente Avenue. This valoration is made by replace cost method. However, this cost es exceeded in comparison with econmical benefit calculated with operation road. This cost-benefit relation has to incorporate in the analysis of environmental services such as support for human developing and society has ability to progress and promote welfare in responsable and long-lasting way.
