BICI-SAFE : implementación de una aplicación web para el reporte de hurtos y estado de la red de ciclorutas en Bogotá

Abstract

Bogota City, known as the bicycle capital of the world, currently has the worst theft rates in the last 10 years. In addition, the poor quality of the bike paths means that bicycle users are constantly facing risky situations that compromise their physical integrity and their lives. As a possible solution to this problem, the Bici-Safe software is implemented, where users can generate reports of theft and damage to the bike paths to generate early warnings for other users and influence decision making. Incidents can be registered by users using the GPS of their cell phone or with a computer, knowing the location of the incident beforehand. The application generates a heat map showing the areas with the most reported thefts and damage to the bike path so that users can take more preventive measures or choose alternative routes.
