Resumen
The current work focuses on social construction of risks in Villas del Rosario and Las Terrazas, neighborhoods in Barranquilla, Atlántico, Colombia. From two theoretical conceptual models, the culturalist and the pressure and liberation, which allow the application of qualitative methodologies to understand the factors that shape and reconfigure scenarios and the perception of risk in natural phenomena such as mass movements - landslides - that have affected the habitants of the mentioned neighborhoods. With the application of the ethnographic perspective, it can be concluded that the used models allow to explain that the culture and trust in terms of cooperation are a determining factor in the perception and management of risk and becomes the guiding thread for the implementation of public policies to manage risk from a prevention perspective
