Resumen
The research group OSGeoLAB UD, which belongs to the research group in Public Management, Appraisal and Urban Planning (GIGA), is responsible for the Colouring Bogotá platform, an application derived from the Colouring Cities project led by The Alan Turing Institute in the United Kingdom. Colouring Bogotá is an urban space representation project where two-dimensional visualization of spatial data, while useful, generates limited representations of urban components (Bilecki et al., 2021), this limitation is common in the field of data visualization platforms such as IDECA, therefore, we seek to answer How can open source 3D representation standards and tools improve data quality and visualization in 'Colouring Bogotá'? using a hybrid methodology of technical and theoretical components to integrate a 3D representation and visualization system in the platform, it is achieved; understanding through matrices, processes and documentation the potential of standards for 3D representation, defining the process to integrate the platform with 3D representation tools and integrating data and open tools for 3D visualization on the web. In general, it is recommended and concludes the opportunity to continue developing research on 3D representation, if possible implementing open source tools and standards that allow access and interoperability of data.
