Resumen
This monograph, titled Awakening of Body Awareness through the Experience of Biodanza in a Group of Women in Villavicencio, Meta, is part of the research subline Body, Sensitivity, Thought and Culture, within the framework of human development. The research stems from the author's personal transformation through Biodanza, which led her to share this process with a group of twelve adult women from the Meta region, aiming to explore how this practice fosters the awakening of body awareness. Using a qualitative, phenomenological-hermeneutic approach, four Biodanza sessions were conducted and documented through open interviews, participant observation, and field notes. The study aimed to analyze changes in body perception, understand the connection between the Biodanza experience and the participants' personal histories, and reflect on the role of the women’s group as a container and catalyst for transformation. Findings reveal that Biodanza, by activating the body as a symbolic, emotional, and affective space, allows the release of repressed emotions, the resignification of personal history, and the strengthening of interpersonal bonds in terms of human development. The participants experienced processes of openness, connection, and healing, thanks to the creation of a safe space where the body could express itself authentically. The study concludes that Biodanza is a powerful tool to reconnect with the body, heal deep memories, and foster human connection, especially in contexts marked by pain and resilience, such as the Colombian Llanos.
