Resumen
Objective. An analysis will be made of the trajectory of the presentation of malaria in Colombia in the decade 2010-2019. Methods. The 32 departments of Colombia were analyzed, where they were divided by their four species, associated malaria (mixed forms), Plasmodium falciparum malaria, Plasmodium vivax malaria and complicated malaria, the data used were obtained from the official website of SIVIGILA, these Data were inserted into an Excel table, to then generate the respective graphs and thematic maps in order to establish in which departments the cases of malaria were higher, which species was more prevalent, its incidence and thus be able to make a comparison of the real epidemiological data in the period 2010-2019. Results. Having carried out all the methodology, we observe that the species with the highest frequency of cases are Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax, as for the departments with the highest number of cases were Antioquia, Córdoba, Bolívar, Choco, Valle del Cauca, Nariño and Vaupés, for the years under study, it is known that the highest frequency of number of malaria cases in all its species occurred in 2010 with 118,331 registered cases and the lowest frequency was reported in 2014 with 41,102 malaria cases. Conclusions. This improvement predicts that malaria has an incidence in many regions of the country and is related to population displacement due to the current situation in the country, in addition to the importance of strengthening public health surveillance.
