Resumen
The Garagoa River basin is located in the eastern mountain range and is divided by different thermal floors, where we find a warm climate zone, medium climate zone, cold climate zone and finally paramo zones, an ecosystem where we find species such as the frailejón and the spectacled bear. Its upper end is part of the Cundinamarca-Boyacá plateau and drains into the eastern Andean slope. This is a strategic ecosystem for the population living in this territory, since it provides access to water resources, offering important benefits for rural communities, including the development of economic activities typical of the region (agriculture and livestock) in the vicinity of its course, hence the great importance of its care and protection. In this sense, the present work proposes the formulation of strategies to encourage the efficient management of the middle and lower part of the Garagoa River, based on the conflicts related to the use that has been given to the water resource. With the formulation of these strategies, it is expected to achieve a conciliation between the different actors (nature and man), thus making the communities aware of the care of the environment and natural resources, and the importance of preserving this hydrographic basin that is of great importance for all living beings.
