Apoyo a la Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD) para la implementación y seguimiento del Sistema de Gestión Ambiental en la sede Nacional José Celestino Mutis

Abstract

The Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), as is well known, is a virtual institution that, nevertheless, is certified for its excellence in the management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and ensures good environmental indicators through implemented programs. The institution has laboratories for professional practices, which are a source of environmental impact due to the chemical reagents used and hazardous waste generated; for this reason, it requires rigor, constant training and evaluation, including the management and disposal of its solid waste. On the other hand, since it is also an administrative headquarters, the use of resources such as paper and printing machines is high; therefore, it may be a source of impact that needs to be managed. In this way, the EMS was supported in implementing and strengthening environmental care programs.
