Resumen
This research is the result of problematizing the tension between children's participation and the process of restoring children's rights, in which the leading role of children in the construction of their life projects and in the transformation of society is made invisible. For which, during the present investigation, the imaginary meanings about participation were investigated and interpreted, from the voices of a group of boys and girls in State custody who live in the "Casa de la Madre y el Niño" Foundation. In accordance with the above, to develop the research, Participatory Action Research (IAP) was implemented as a methodological approach, allowing the development of this research, in three moments: A first moment, of approach with the boys and girls, and with the community of which they are part, this allowed to know their instituted and instituting imaginary meanings about participation; to move on to a second moment, in which an experience of child protagonist participation was developed, mediated by games, literature and the languages of artistic expression, during which new representations, feelings and practices on child participation emerged, on the part of the children. Complemented by a third moment during which the researcher and the children jointly elaborated the album called “¡Crac! Las niñas y niños en restablecimiento de derechos se toman la palabra” that makes visible their life experience and the emergence of these new representations, feelings and practices on participation, built by the boys and girls with whom this research was developed.
