Resumen
Work at heights in Colombia is considered a high risk job, due to the level of exposure that workers are in, since a high occupational accident is generated during this activity. In order to reduce the incidence of accidents in this type of work, in recent years, the legislation on Occupational Safety and Health that regulates work at heights has presented several modifications in Colombia. In order to make a comparison in terms of regulations on working at heights with one of the countries of South America, Chile is chosen as it is one of the leading countries in occupational risk prevention according to the Chilean Safety Association, " Chile has one of the highest levels of security coverage in Latin America, and its accident rate is comparable to that of developed countries. Without a doubt, an important part of the success of the labor security system is given by the labor regulations of the country. ” (ACHS. Occupational Safety in Latin America). By means of the normative analysis that is intended to be established between the two countries, a reference point will be observed as a result that allows identifying which regulations applied to said activities have been more effective. This work is immersed in the line of research, Public Policy on Safety and Health at Work (17), subline policies for the control of occupational risks at the national level.
