The present theoretical-practical project was carried out with the objective of formulating an Environmental Management System according to the ISO 14001:2015 standard for the company Tortillas Texanas S.A.S., with branches in Bogotá, which could be implemented and serve as a basis for the consolidation of a complete Environmental Management System in future phases. This work was conducted in four stages. Initially, an environmental diagnosis was performed using tools such as: reconnaissance visits, an environmental awareness survey, an environmental performance checklist, and the ISO 14001:2015 requirements checklist. In the second stage, the prioritization of aspects and impacts was carried out through the legal matrix and by identifying and evaluating these same aspects. In the third stage, environmental objectives, goals, and programs were formulated based on the significance value previously evaluated. Finally, the documentation of the requirements according to the ISO 14001:2015 standard was completed. This process resulted in a framework for the development of the Environmental Management System for the company, guiding it towards improved environmental performance. Programs were developed based on the identification of the most significant and priority environmental aspects, including: an integrated solid waste management plan, a program for the efficient use and saving of water, a noise prevention and decontamination program, emission control measures for mobile sources, a discharge management and control program, and an environmental management plan for packaging and containers. Similarly, the tools applied in the development of the project were used to establish activities and management indicators that help meet the goals proposed for the company. The implementation of this project will not only improve the company's environmental performance but also ensure legal compliance with various requirements set by environmental authorities, alongside the involvement of environmental commitment. Based on the above, it is recommended to continue efforts in the implementation of mechanisms that gradually transform conventional production methods. This can be achieved through the execution and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS) planned for Tortillas Texanas S.A.S. at its Bogotá location. In addition, these actions will contribute to the development of business solutions in response to the current environmental crisis.
