Resumen
The present thesis, developed during 2015, implemented a study on the linguistic codes that teachers use in their pedagogic discourse in the classrooms, based on this research question: How may the linguistic codes circulating in the pedagogic discourse of teachers maintain the economic level associated to the students?, To respond to this inquiry, the research took as a sample of two secondary social science teachers from two different schools, one public and the other private in the city of Bogota. The sociological concepts for this investigation come from the theories of Basil Bernstein and the concept of linguistics of Pierre Bourdieu which was applied for the analysis of the teaching discourse. The methodology used is the discourse analysis which determines whether the socioeconomic stratification of the student is influenced by the immersed linguistic codes in the teaching discourse that comes out from the educational process carried out in the classroom.
