Resumen
This work presents the result of the design, elaboration and implementation of the environmental experience called "Life to the Extreme" which was carried out in the Tropicario of the Botanical Garden of Bogotá José Celestino Mutis (JBBJCM) under the modality of work of degree of internship.
The JBBJCM is a center for research, conservation and divulgation of the diversity of plant species in the country, this work makes a bibliographic review, based on some authors who consider botanical gardens as living museums according to the guidelines of ICOM (International Council of Museums), a museological tool known as mediation is implemented. This implementation is made under the design of an environmental experience called "Life to the extreme" which is carried out in the facilities of the Tropicario of the JBBJCM which has representations of different Colombian ecosystems. The experience consists of a tour and a workshop focused on the adaptations of plants to the ecosystems and plant formations present in the Tropicario (Super paramo, Tropical Rainforest and Tropical Dry Forest) recognizing some Colombian ecosystems could become hostile to life, but finding different and diverse forms of life that interact with each other for the maintenance of these ecosystems. It's sought from this experience and mediation, generate meaningful experiences through communication bridges between the visitor and the environmental educator fostering an integration of knowledge through dialogue, generating processes of environmental education and social appropriation of knowledge, carrying processes of environmental conservation of Colombian flora based on the recognition of it and the importance for the maintenance of Colombian ecosystems.
