Resumen
This research analyzes how the forced disappearance of Gloria Mireya Bogotá Barbosa impacted the notions and practices of motherhood in her family—her mother and sisters. Through interviews, free word association, and narrative analysis, it was evident that this event transformed caregiving, generating motherhoods marked by fear, overprotection, silence, and unfinished mourning. At the same time, strategies of resistance and memory emerged that, from the everyday, constitute acts of political vindication. Based on human development approaches (Nussbaum, Sen, Max-Neef) and the Buen Vivir paradigm, the disappearance is interpreted as violence that violates capacities, bonds, and life plans. The involvement of the researcher, the victim's niece, contributes to the reconstruction of the family narrative and the intergenerational elaboration of grief. In conclusion, the study makes visible the subjective effects of forced disappearance and highlights the ethical and transformative value of care, memory, and emotional resistance.
