The image contains news about Ordinance 149 of 1851, by which the governor is authorized to publicly contract the installation of public lighting in the city of Bogotá using gas. It is established that the governor, together with a board, will determine the number of streets to be illuminated, the number of lights per block and other details necessary to carry out the project. In addition, it is stipulated that the owners of the houses located on the illuminated streets will contribute with a portion of the costs, and that the government will allocate a specific amount of funds to assist the contractor. Finally, it is indicated that the contribution of individuals and the allocation of funds by the council will be delivered monthly to the contractor. News published in El Constitucional. No. 332.
