Resumen
The corridor of the Caracas Avenue in the Molinos neighborhood, currently does not have sufficient capacity for the proper movement of vehicles, since a total of 1768 vehicles was identified per hour per lane according to projections traffic calculated to from the appraisals conducted by the Urban Development Institute (IDU) in 2006, which exceeds the limit set in rush hour traffic, intersections with stoplights present in the track and the reduction of road along the corridor vial, causing decrease in speed and congestion at different points of the track. After performing the analysis of information collected by different entities and proper fieldwork topography, it is taken as the most viable and effective design development of a step-depressed slope, comprising the stretch of the Caracas Avenue (51th street South) starting at the entrance to the jail “La Picota” ( 51th street south x 5Z street west) to the “El Consuelo” Transmilenio station (51st street South to 11th street west), so the two intersections with traffic lights were removed, adding two lanes road, creating three lanes of mixed traffic and two dedicated lanes traffic transport system Transmilenio and generate road geometric designs to the streets surrounding the project such as 9th street west side, 10th street west street 7 west and south 51th street south that improve the mobility of vehicles from the UPZ Diana Turbay, UPZ Marruecos and Usme zone.
